It is not only the Ruhr area with its motorway-aorta A40 that shows emissions of particulate matter. At the latest since the emissions scandal in 2015 and the subsequent EU-wide regulation on RDE (Real Driving Emission) measurements, the measurement of particulate emissions has become more important. The focus shifted on measuring emissions in real road traffic and not only under laboratory conditions.

Possible areas of application

For on-board PN-PEMS measurements the compact and portable MPEC+ (Mobile Particle Emission Counter) is the device of choice.

It provides reliable results for exhaust PN measurements of off-road vehicles and engines (ISO8178-1) but also for Aircraft and marine engine PN emission measurements.

Why the MPEC+?

With the Dekati® MPEC+ you have a compact device consisting of two components: The Dekati® ePNC™ particle counting technology was combined with a sample conditioning system that allows direct connection to raw exhaust gas.

The  ePNC™ particle counting technology from Dekati® works based on diffusion charging and electrical detection of the collected particles. The electrical signal generated is directly proportional to the particle number (PN) concentration due to the patented low pressure operation.
