Description

The Dekati® DOFR™ is an oxidation flow reactor that accelerates the formation of secondary aerosols. The process, which can take several days in the atmosphere, is shortened to less than a minute with the help of the Oxidation Flow Reactor.

In the Oxidation Flow Reactor, the aerosol sample is exposed to intense UVC radiation in a laminar flow. Together with water molecules and ozone, an extremely oxidative environment is created in the DOFR™, which accelerates the formation of secondary aerosols. A particle measuring device connected to the outlet of the reactor (for example the ELPI™+) monitors the size, mass and concentration of the resulting aerosol.
