The Tricolor Absorption Photometer (short: TAP) is a product of the US company Brechtel Manufacturing Inc. The TAP works much like a black carbon monitor. However, to determine the type of aerosol, it uses three wavelengths (red, yellow, and blue) that examine the blackness of the sample. To do this, the meter measures one sampling spot after the other.
